Nairn & Marsland land Masters title
Cambridge’s Blake Nairn continued his hot recent form whilst Mosman Park’s Dale Marsland was a standout in the final as the pair combined for victory in the Hart & Co Doubleview Men’s Masters Pairs.
Nairn and Marsland had a terrific finals day winning through in the semi final with a comfortable 18-5 win over Ryan Moyle (Doubleview) and Corey Bessant (Mt Lawley) in the semi final. They took on John Slavich (Doubleview) and Justin Opie (South Perth) who had survived a late charge from the Cambridge pair of Andrew Foster and Steven Rushforth 19-17.
In the final Nairn and in particular Marsland always held the upper hand, after beginning well to lead 8-1 the closest Slavich and Opie could get to them was 14-10 with just two ends to play however a well played end and two more shots gave them breathing space heading into the last end for a final score of 16-11.
Doubleview Bowling Club would again like to thank Cambridge who hosted the washed out Day 1 and all the players who participated along with first time tournament sponsors Hart & Co.
The next event on the Dyenamic Masters Series Calendar will be the Mosman Park Masters Singles which begins this Friday 19th February 2021.
